Please look at all pictures. Solid grill wood front and looks good but minor imperfections. I do all packing and post office runs by myself.
If I were to just use the boxes available in the conventional way then a box for items would either be so large or to tight to protect that the ship costs would be so expensive that nobody would buy or so small that I wouldn't feel as if it were packed correctly so I take the time to customize cardboard boxes to fit speaker or tuner etc. They are mahogany and I have yet to locate a cabinet or finish carpenter willing to repair this particular style.
Mix matching whatever they considers a better combo of tweeters, horns and crossovers the Sansui being made in japan was and still ISO that has great engineers who did design work back then for us guitar companies, evidenced by comparing the main ohm speakers.
I've collected audio equipment and built custom ones using the best of the best parts from different companies my entire life. I also have a set of Sansui x2500 speakers that have same grill design. These classic grills are almost impossible to find in mint shape do to the intricacy of the carved wood. My personal opinion is they all are outstanding speakers and my 2500's i'll be listing soon are the one set i'm particularly fond of had plans on restoring, but have to much on my plate now.
Back in the 70's there were only a handful companies that built drivers crossovers then they would sell to speaker companies that had their own way of combining their own design and buffering technical in their cabinets. It's better than most but discounted.
During recent move I had to put my vintage audio, motorcycle and mg parts in storage and downsizing so call me at if your in need of other parts for the Sansui's as shipping them across county can be as high as a hundred each and for this I think it's better to buy the components buy or build a box yourself, then with the grills they will at least look right. As long as I went off track I opened the floodgates to help list non classic car, bike audio listings since around 5 mos ago but I don't charge my only my oldest of friends or family to help out by listing something for them. I am also not the fastest shipper but the computer will post a Del estimated time which may sound long but I beat this by far.
Into just the right size. Extra ideas for audiophiles other than the sp 7500x, that I replaced the wood grill on.
Speaker boxes are about the simplest wood work project to do,even if you use kitchen cabinets that come close they can be beefed up inside and just by adding some vintage grills you can end up with even nicer than originals if you take the time to look for high end cabinets, made of monogamy or oak. Most of the sp series boxes look the same to me, but differ in dimensions by only inches.
