Details:
A re foaming kit is available from parts express, for about 15 for two, and it's easy to replace the foam surround. They sat unused in their original boxes for many years. In looking at them now, the foam surrounds are cracked, which most speakers with foam surrounds do eventually.
Even with the foam surround cracked, as can be seen in the picture above, the woofer works fine the voice coil does not rub.
