I would removed it and use either some new caulking or a pair of foam type gaskets for installing in cabinets.

Ask any and all questions before buying. For sale is one pair of 10 woofers removed from a set of 1998 Infinity sm 215 speakers.

Both tested and play fine but they will need new foam surrounds installed. Since 1990, I have enjoyed collecting and restoring antique radios and vintage audio.

The tacky ring of sealant around back of one woofer has been removed, and sealant around back of other woofer still intact. 5 ohms for both woofers. The sm 215 speakers were rated at 175 watts max, into 4/8 ohms impedance.
