Details:

I am selling it as core, candidate for a recon. Supposedly same as the 1400nd driver with ultra hi-tech neodymium high performance magnet structure.

The possible explanation is that it was used in some installation with deteriorated surrounds, removed and put Jbl box, somehow obtained by person who sold to me, thinking new. It looked new to me at the time, and I bought as is. Beautiful Jbl woofer used in the top of line monitor DMS-1, and k2 series, s75 may be other model's. Its easily a driver, so my loss is your gain.

I bought this woofer as nos, took it to the Jbl tech get reformed, but after reform, frequency sweep showed buzzing between 20-80hz, so he pulled cone and discovered a damaged voice coil.
