I took impedance measurements of both the units to see how they match after reassembling. From the cone assembly only dust cap had been removed, rest of kept intact and together, with surround, spider, voice coil. You can see that the reassembled unit has lower Fs about 10Hz and lowered Qts compared to untouched. The unit on the left had been completely disassembled, including motor and magnet for some research I done years ago.
I am not equipped to do detailed frequency response measurements currently compare their responses, but based on the impedance suspect them have similar except at low end roll off region due differences in Fs and Qts. These units should be low pass filtered by x-over anyway which manufacturers recommendation is 200Hz 2nd order Butter worth filter. From my visual inspection of these units I don't see they are effected from that, any indication swelling under the glue in those joints. You can see some glue marks especially on the dust cap to cone connection left unit in pictures that is from my assembling it back together.
A picture of the impedance curves both units are added to listing. The unit that is on the right of pictures had never been used, was sitting in its box. One unit is new old stock NOS never used. But I can't make any guarantees if they will develop that issue or not.
The other unit had been disassembled and recently reassembled. The cone assembly had been removed from the basket though. You can find manufacturers spec sheet here: s:// .Scan-Speak.DJ/data sheet/PDF/12m-4631g00.PDF, Old Scan-Speak drivers are prone to developing open circuit issue where the voice coil wire is soldered tinsel leads and glued cone. I recently reassembled that unit back together and it is functional again.
